It is not proved that John Whitlock was born in Goochland or Lunenburg Couty in 1759 or 1750. There are two possibilities for the parents of John Whitlock. 1. Thomas Whitlock and Elizabeth Dupree Whitlock. Stated in LDS records. There is definitely a tie to this family but maybe not parents. 2. John Whitlock and Ann Logan Whitlock. This is shown in research from Mrs. Burchfield of Texas. Sarah Wilborn's father Lewis did live in Goochland Co. at the time of John and Sarah's marriage.
John Whitlock was the father of Richard Whitlock as proved by the Will of Lewis Wilbourne in Halifax County Virginia dated 1799, land transactions between John, Sarah and Richard and tax lists in Halifax COunty Virginia.
It is believed that Sarah went to Wilson County Tennesse with her son Mitchell. There is a Sarah, 80 years old, living with Mitchell in the 1850 Wilson County Tennessee Census.
